Senior Division
In the Seniors POA Division, Dan Lee of Calgary won with a +202.
In the Seniors Scratch Division, Greg Gigliuk won with 2095. This is his ninth win as a senior and sixteenth overall.
The final tournament this year for teaching and seniors will be held on February 23, 2020. Check with your zone director to be sure of your location and time.
Tournament Division
The tournament division has now completed their 3rd and 4th tournaments.
The ladies third tournament winner was Michelle Manton of Lethbridge with a 2133. This was her first win. Congratulations!
The winner of the fourth ladies tournament was Bonnie McDonald of Hylo with a 2028. This is Bonnie’s ninth tournament win.
In the men’s division, there was a sweep by Robert Wolfson of De Winton. He won the third tournament with 2022 and the fourth with 2124. This was his first and second win. Wow!
Tournament 5 and 6 will be held in Edmonton on March 14 and 15. Check with your zone directors as to the exact location and times. Alberta’s National Team will be finalized on Sunday and the winners will be asked to stay a little later to pick a coach, sign papers, and get sized up for shirts.

Master/YBC Tournament
The annual Master/YBC Provincial tournament is being held on March 8, 2020 at Heritage Lanes in Red Deer. This is a great event that gives our youth bowlers a glimpse at what being a Master is all about.
Teams are made up of a bantam, junior and senior YBC bowler as well as a Master bowler. We need Masters from all divisions to support this tournament!!
Entry information has been sent to the bowling centers and your proprietors should be running house rounds in the near future. Please take the time to check it out and join in. It really is a lot of fun for those who get involved!!
Senior Division Provincials
The dates for the Senior Division Provincials are Saturday, March 14, 2020, and Sunday,
March 15, 2020. They will be held at Bronx Bowl in Edmonton. The start times will be Saturday @ 10:00 a.m. and Sunday @ 9:00 a.m. Cost is $100.

Participants will be bowling 8 games each day. Alberta’s National Team will be finalized on Sunday and the winners will be asked to stay a little later to pick a coach, sign papers, and get sized up for shirts.

Rhod Hubbard is your Provincial Teaching Division Director and he has asked that any new bowlers who are still required to bring average verification for the Provincials have that information sent to him at hubardr@shaw.ca. The average date to be used is February 23, 2020, and must be sent to Rhod by March 3, 2020.
Remember to bring extra Cash ! This is to take care of elimination draw tickets and your national shirt.
What’s New?
Due to the high cost of attending the nationals in Newfoundland, each contingent member will be asked to pay for half the cost of their national shirt. Please ensure that you are prepared to pay for the shirt at the team meeting along with your elimination draw tickets. The cost of the shirt will be $40 per shirt.
Coaching Resumes
The deadline for resumes for Teaching and Senior divisions is before the first ball is thrown on the last day of the Provincial tournament. The deadline for the Tournament division is before the first ball is thrown on the morning of the final tournament.

Assessment Fee for Non-Participating Masters
Please note that any non-participating Master who wishes to coach at the National level will be required to pay a $500.00 assessment fee.
National Dates
The 2020 Nationals will be held in St. John, Newfoundland from June 28, 2020 – July 3, 2020. The participants will be flying out on June 27 and returning July 3, 2020.
AGM Date
The date for this year’s AGM is Sunday, May 24, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre in Red Deer (6300 45 Avenue, Red Deer – (403-346-2010). Please mark this in your calendar and plan to attend.
Casino Volunteers Required
The time has come again to ask for volunteers for our next casino being held June 25 & 26, 2020 at The Deerfoot Inn and Casino in Calgary. We have various positions available from Banker, Count Room Supervisor, Cashier, Chip Runner and Count Room Staff.
