Any trained and uncertified Competition Coach who took their Comp clinic prior to June 30, 2018 should complete their on-lane evaluation prior to June 30, 2022 or they will forfeit the fee portion they paid at the clinic. If the evaluation is not completed by that date, the fee they paid will be forfeited and they will be required to pay again for an evaluation.
Anyone trained July 2, 2018 and beyond will have 3 years from the date of their training to complete their on-lane evaluation – otherwise, their fee portion will be forfeited and they will be required to pay again for an evaluation after that expiration date.
What the Trained coach needs to do:
The following documents must be submitted to the evaluator seven (7) days prior to the evaluation:
➢ Signed Coaches Code of Conduct (includes Universal Code of Conduct)
➢ Complete on-line training Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders or Safe Sport training in the Locker
➢ Complete on-line training ‘Making Headway’
➢ Practice plan for Novice (Teach a Skill)
➢ Practice plan for Experienced (Refine a Skill)
➢ Emergency Action Plan or proof of completion in the Locker
➢ Coach Self-Assessment
➢ Assessment – Athlete or Parent
➢ Assessment – Administrator or Proprietor
➢ Evidence of completion of Make Ethical Decisions online evaluation

Hi Carrie, please check the “Clinic Dates and Locations”. We have two Intro to Competition clinics scheduled – one in Calgary September 30 – October 2 and one in Edmonton October 21-23. Those are the only two scheduled for this year so far.

Hi Carrie, the instructions for signing up are on the poster under “Clinic Dates and Locations”. Just click on the link that says Intro to Competition” for the specific date. There is some pre-work that you need to do to register. The instructor’s email address is also noted on the poster so if you have further questions, please reach out to the instructor directly. Hi Carrie, Please visit the Coaching Clinics and News/Clinic Dates and Locations page on our website. The Edmonton clinic on October 21-23 was cancelled and rescheduled for October 28-30 in Red Deer. All of the clinic details are on the website – how to register, etc.
