Tournament Rates Change for Teaching/Senior Division

The board of directors had a meeting on October 15, 2022 and there is an update to the tournament charges.

1.  No shows will continue to be responsible for their lineage if they do not show up and the lineage has been charged by the proprietor.  If the proprietor does not charge, then of course you will not need to pay.  The association will not charge the bowler their portion of the administration fees. (**Remember that all bowlers should notify the zone director that they are coming to the tournament a week in advance and so that they are able to notify the proprietor.  If your proprietor does not charge for “no shows” then this will not affect the bowler.)

2.  The tournament rate has changed for teaching and senior division.  The new tournament rate is what the proprietor charges per game up to $8.00 per game (for Sunday tournaments only) plus $46.  This does not affect the rookie /under 21 rate.  It will remain as $65 for the tournament.

For example:
Proprietor charges $7 per game – 8 games x $7 = $56 plus

Association Fee – $46

The total would be: $102.

Your Zone Director will confirm with you as to the cost of the tournament.

Newsletter – August 2022

Master Bowlers’ Association of Alberta

                                                August 2022

Welcome back for another season of the Master Bowlers Association of Alberta.

Dear Fellow Masters,

To assist our tournament directors and hosting proprietors, we are asking for your cooperation when participating in our tournaments.

You must Pre-Register with the zone directors a week prior to the tournament. This will allow the proprietors to book the appropriate number of lanes for the tournament. This also helps the proprietor enter names into the electronic scoring before the tournament begins. These actions will help in getting our tournaments started on time.

We are now negotiating with Bowl Alberta as some of the proprietors would like to institute a “no show” policy where if the bowler does not show to the event, they will be charging the Master Bowlers the lineage for that person.  Those charges will need to be passed onto the bowler and they will be charged the amount. The bowler will not be a member in good standing until the amount is paid.  Bottom line, it may come to “you are saying you are going to be there then you will need to show up or cancel one week prior”.  We will keep you posted as to the outcome.
