Upcoming Teaching Division Provincials

The Ladies Teaching Division Provincials are being held at Innisfail Bowling Lanes in Innisfail and the Teaching Men at The Bowl 5 Pin & 10 Pin House in Olds on Saturday, March 16, 2024 9:00 a.m. (Please make sure you arrive no later than 8:45.) and on Sunday, March 17, 2024 @ 9:00 a.m. at Heritage Lanes in Red Deer

Heritage Lanes has a strict no outside food policy.  They have asked us to share this with the bowlers.   They have a full menu at their restaurant (including breakfast) you can order from.  Along with this, if someone has a strict dietary concern and the menu doesn’t have options for them, then you are allowed to bring something in.  Otherwise, bowlers can bring in their own water bottles, coffee and only fruit (as this is not on the menu).   Here is a link to their menu.

Cost will be $140. (Please bring exact change if possible.) The money will be collected at the first tournament for the ladies in Innisfail and the men on Sunday at Heritage.

The winners will be asked to stay a little later to pick a coach, sign papers, and get sized up for shirts.

If you have qualified to bowl and you do not plan to attend please let Sarah Simmons (Zone 5 – 8) or Dorry Mielke (Zone 1 – 4) know as soon as possible but no later than March 4.  Sarah can be contacted at ssimmons81@gmail.comor by phone at 403-988-6211 and Dorry can be contacted at milkdm@hotmail.com   or by phone at 780-884-1719.

If you pull out of the tournament after March 11 please be advised that you will be charged $140 for the tournament if the proprietor charges the MBA of A the lineage.

Sarah Simmons is your Provincial Teaching Division Director and she has asked that any new bowlers who are required to bring average verification for the Provincials have that information sent to her at ssimmons81@gmail.com.   The average date to be used is February 24, 2024, and must be sent to Sarah by March 4, 2024.

Remember to bring extra Cash !  This is to take care of elimination draw tickets ($25 each) and your second national shirt (If you require one.).

Thank you.

Upcoming Senior Division Provincials

The Senior Division Provincials will be held at Heartland Bowl in Stettler on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 17, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.

The address is 4601 – 59 Street.  Phone 403-742-3149. Heartland Bowl | Stettler AB | Facebook

It is very important to let Bev know whether you will or will not be attending if you have qualified for the Provincials.  We are required to let our proprietor know 1 week prior to the tournament how many bowlers we will have.  If you pull out of the tournament after March 11, please be advised that you will be charged for the tournament if the proprietor charges MBA of A for your lineage.

We will require average verification for those bowlers who have not yet completed 5 tournaments.  Please e-mail, if possible, to Bev @ bgigliuk@gmail.com  by March 10, 2024, or call to let Bev know what your average (or averages if you bowl more than 1 league) are so we can have that information available for the lanes.  You will be required to bring your average verification(s) with you to the tournament if you are unable to e-mail them.  You can reach Bev by phone at 403-340-8961 or 403-597-7674.

The cost of the Senior Provincials will be $130.00 which will cover lineage for the weekend. There will be Pins Over Average as well as Scratch singles pots available to enter into. The cost will be $10.00 per pot per day. You can enter one or both or none of the pots for either day. This is strictly optional.

Please be prepared to stay and fill out some forms and get sized up for shirts and pick a coach if you qualify for the National team.

You will also be required to purchase 2 elimination draw tickets at $25.00 each which needs to be paid immediately following the Provincial Tournament.

There are also some forms that need to be filled out at the completion of the Provincials if you are a National qualifier. One of the forms requires medical history as well as current medical conditions and medications, Doctor’s name(s) and contact information. We have found in the past that this information is not always readily available to each individual on short notice, so if you have any medical information that you think will be relevant, please prepare it ahead of time and bring it with you. I guarantee it will save you some time to have that prepared in advanced.
