Teaching, Senior, and Tournament Division Results

Teaching Division

North Division Teaching Ladies- Eva White of Edmonton –  +234 Her second win this season.

South Division Teaching Ladies- Sarah Simmons of Calgary –  +267

North Division Teaching Men- Jason Flowkowsky of Sherwood Park –  +265

South Division Teaching Men- Brian Sudbury of Calgary –  +458

Senior Division

Raymond Clark of Red Deer won with a +225.

In the Seniors Scratch Division Brian Rossetti of Bragg Creek won with 2159. This is Brian’s 15th win.

The final tournament this year for teaching and seniors will be held on February 22, 2026.  Check with your zone director to be sure of your location and time or follow the link.

Tournament Division

The tournament division has now completed their 3rd and 4th tournaments.

The ladies third tournament (2300) and fourth tournament (2221) winner was Heidi Mapstone from Spruce Grove.  Heidi has now won 7 tournaments with the Masters.

In the men’s division it was also a double winner.  Bradley Tytgat from Edmonton won the third tournament with a 2401 and the fourth tournament with a 2397.  These are Bradley’s 9th and 10th win.

Tournament 5 and 6 will be held in Calgary on March 21 and 222.  Check with your zone directors as to the exact location and times or follow the link. Master/YBC Tournament

The annual Master/YBC Provincial tournament is being held on March 1, 2026 at Heritage Lanes in Red Deer.  This is a great event that gives our youth bowlers a glimpse at what being a Master is all about.

Teams are made up of a bantam, junior and senior YBC bowler as well as a Master bowler.  We need Masters from all divisions to support this tournament!!

Entry information has been sent to the bowling centers and your proprietors should be running house rounds in the near future.  Please take the time to check it out and join in.  It really is a lot of fun for those who get involved!!

Senior Division Provincials

The dates for the Senior Division Provincials are Saturday, March 14, 2026, and Sunday,

March 15, 2026. They will be held at Bonnie Doon Lanes in Edmonton. Bonnie Doon Bowling Lanes – 5 Pin Lanes, Edmonton, Alberta The start times will be Saturday @ 12:00 p.m. and Sunday @ 9:00 a.m.

The address of Bonnie Doon Lanes is:  8330 – 82 Ave. (In Bonnie Doon Mall).  The phone number is: 780-466-9047.

Participants will be bowling 8 games each day. Alberta’s National Team will be finalized on Sunday and the winners will be asked to stay a little later to pick a coach, sign papers, and get sized up for shirts.

Also; don’t forget to bring extra Cash !  This is to take care of elimination draw tickets and your second national shirt (If you require one).

Teaching Division Provincials Information

The Teaching Division Provincials are being held in Edmonton on Saturday, March 14, 2025 @ 9:00 a.m. at Bronx Bowl. (Please make sure you arrive no later than 8:45.) and on Sunday, March 15, 2025 @ 9:00 a.m. at Bonnie Doon Lanes.

If you pull out of the tournament after March 7 please be advised that you will be charged for the tournament.

Dorry Mielke is your Provincial Teaching Division Director and she has asked that any new bowlers who are still required to bring average verification for the Provincials have that

information sent to her at milkydm@hotmail.com .   The average date to be used is February 22, 2026, and must be sent to Dorry by March 7, 2026.

Coaching Resumes

The deadline for resumes for Teaching and Senior divisions is before the first ball is thrown on the last day of the Provincial tournament. The deadline for the Tournament division is before the first ball is thrown on the morning of the final tournament.

Assessment Fee for Non-Participating Masters

Please note that any non-participating Master (Anyone who has not bowled in at least 3 tournaments in the 2025-2026 season.) who wishes to coach at the National level will be required to pay a $500.00 assessment fee

The Reading Corner

Lane Agent Coordinator

First, we would like to announce that Martinho Marciano has stepped down from this position.  We would like to thank him for all the support he has given the association while doing this volunteering.  We really appreciate it.  He will continue as a lane agent. Next, we would like to announce that Robert Stumber will become the new lane agent coordinator.  We look forward to working with Robert and I am sure the proprietors will as well.

  The 2026 Nationals will be held in Burlington, Ontario from June 28, 2026 – July 2, 2026.  Travel dates June 27, Opening Ceremonies June 28 and departing July 3.

3.4       The election of the Board Executive and the appointment of Treasurer, Secretary and Technical Director shall take place at the Annual General Meeting of the Association.

At any regular Board of Director Meeting or Special Meeting any member who has not withdrawn, been expelled or suspended from membership and is a member of the MBAA Board or Directors, or a Special Committee, shall have the right to vote at their respective meetings. Such votes may be made at a virtual meeting, with their camera on, or physically in person and not by proxy or otherwise. At the Board of Directors Meetings, the BFA Director shall not have voting privileges.

3.4       The election of the Board Executive and the appointment of Treasurer, Secretary and Technical Director shall take place at the Annual General Meeting of the Association. Nominations for vacant Board of Directors positions can be made by any member who has not withdrawn, been expelled or suspended from membership only. Nominees cannot be self-nominated.

The date for this year’s AGM is Sunday, May 24, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre in Red Deer (6300 45 Avenue, Red Deer – 403-346-2010). Please mark this in your calendar and plan to attend.
