South Division Teaching Ladies- Sarah Simmons of Calgary – +297

Senior Division
Jim Linnen of Sherwood Park won with a +272. Jim has won four times as a senior.
In the Seniors Scratch Division Rick Heinrich of Langdon won with 1990. This is his second win this year.
The final tournament this year for teaching and seniors will be held on February 23, 2025. Check with your zone director to be sure of your location and time or follow the link.

Tournament Division
The tournament division has now completed their 3rd and 4th tournaments.
The ladies third tournament winner was Bonnie McDonald of Lac La Biche with a 2085. This was her thirteenth win.
The winner of the fourth ladies tournament was Jenna Lamoureux of Morinville with a 2274. This is Jenna’s third tournament victory.
In the men’s division Michael Marciano won the third tournament with a 2179. He is from Edmonton and this was his first win. Michael had a 410 game. On a side note, Derek Home also bowled a 403 at this tournament.
Matt Schultz of Sherwood Park won the fourth tournament with 2172. This was Matt’s tenth win.
Tournament 5 and 6 will be held in Edmonton on March 22 and 23. Master/YBC Tournament
The annual Master/YBC Provincial tournament is being held on March 2, 2025 at Heritage Lanes in Red Deer. This is a great event that gives our youth bowlers a glimpse at what being a Master is all about.
Teams are made up of a bantam, junior and senior YBC bowler as well as a Master bowler. We need Masters from all divisions to support this tournament!!
Entry information has been sent to the bowling centers and your proprietors should be running house rounds in the near future. Please take the time to check it out and join in. It really is a lot of fun for those who get involved!!
Senior Division Provincials
The dates for the Senior Division Provincials are Saturday, March 8, 2025, and Sunday,
March 9, 2025. They will be held at Bowling Depot in Calgary. The Bowling Depot The start times will be Saturday @ 12:00 p.m. and Sunday @ 9:00 a.m.

Participants will be bowling 8 games each day. Alberta’s National Team will be finalized on Sunday and the winners will be asked to stay a little later to pick a coach, sign papers, and get sized up for shirts.

Teaching Division Provincials Information
The Teaching Division Provincials are being held in Medicine Hat on Saturday, March 15, 2025 @ 9:00 a.m. (Please make sure you arrive no later than 8:45.) and on Sunday, March 16, 2025 @ 9:00 a.m.

Alberta’s National Team will be finalized on Sunday and the winners will be asked to stay a little later to pick a coach, sign papers, and get sized up for shirts.
If you have qualified to bowl and you do not plan to attend please let Brian Sudbury (Zone 5 – 8) or Dorry Mielke (Zone 1 – 4) know as soon as possible but no later than March 4. If you pull out of the tournament after March 8 please be advised that you will be charged for the tournament.
Brian Sudbury is your Provincial Teaching Division Director and he has asked that any new bowlers who are still required to bring average verification for the Provincials have that
information sent to him at brian.sudbury534@gmail.com. The average date to be used is February 24, 202, and must be sent to Brian by March 4, 2025.

Coaching Resumes
The deadline for resumes for Teaching and Senior divisions is before the first ball is thrown on the last day of the Provincial tournament. The deadline for the Tournament division is before the first ball is thrown on the morning of the final tournament.

Assessment Fee for Non-Participating Masters
Please note that any non-participating Master (Anyone who has not bowled in at least 3 tournaments in the 2023-2024 season.) who wishes to coach at the National level will be required to pay a $500.00 assessment fee.

Pin Winner

National Dates
The 2024 Nationals will be held in Surrey British Columbia from June 23, 2025 – June 28, 2025. The participants will be flying out on June 23 and returning home on June 28, 2025. The opening ceremonies will be held on June 23.
AGM Date
The date for this year’s AGM is Sunday, May 24, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre in Red Deer (6300 45 Avenue, Red Deer – (403-346-2010). Please mark this in your calendar and plan to attend.
